Any advise on finding a good attorney in a medical case

Hello and thanks for looking. I was injured by a doctor that did not end well. I am not sure how strong my case is, but do feel I have options. Started looking online and looking up standard terms of some attorneys. Lots of directions one can go......... It would be helpful, to me, if someone who has had experience with a similar situation (or have been in the same) and has any reference of a good attorney, who is fair. Any advise or warnings? I prefer a contingent lawyer, but not sure if I can cover an attorney retainer? Oh, boy. I am not fully recovered, so my energy level is low. I Do Not want to have any regrets later. I can use some advise or comments. I've never sued anyone before. This is a large HMO in Portland. So naturally I'm intimidated. Thanks for reading and may you have a pleasant evening or day Peace
