California's sister rock duo DOG PARTY with SLUG LOVE
No-Fee $8 tickets available now
Dog Party formed in 2005 when the Giles sisters had their first practice. Guitarist Gwendolyn was nine years old and drummer Lucy was just six. From that day on, the sisters continued writing songs, practicing and playing the occasional show as they juggled music with school and growing up. They released their first record, a seven-song self-titled EP, in January 2009, then followed it two years later with the similarly self-released P.A.R.T.Y. As the duo expanded their audience and grew more musically accomplished, they began to play more shows, including a tour of Europe. Their music caught the ear of legendary NoCal punk label Asian Man, which signed the duo and released their second album, Lost Control, in the summer of 2013. They headed out on tour with their pal Kepi, formerly of the Groovie Ghoulies, and ended up serving occasionally as his backing band. Produced again by local hero Chris Woodhouse, the duo made another leap forward with 2015's Vol. 4. Their upward swing continued on their next album, 2016's 'Til You're Mine, which was released in early July. That set caught the ear of Green Day, who brought them on tour in support of that band's Revolution Radio. Their sixth effort, Hit & Run, arrived in 2018. They've been touring ever since!
