Pick-up Litter On the Go with Active Passion! We will be Plogging our way to a cleaner bayou on September 18th starting at 7 AM. It’s Time For The 3rd Quarter Plog! Mark those calendars, spread the word, and get your Plogging boots on. It’s basically fall, though it doesn’t feel like it, which means it’s time to clean up along the bayou. Once every quarter, Active Passion is dedicating one of our weekly runs to being a plog! It’s our way of taking care of our neighbors who have taken care of us since opening. We start from the Active Passion parking lot at 7 AM, because Houston warms up quickly, and finish back at the shop where we dispose of the trash collected properly. WHAT IS PLOGGING? P.L.O.G- Picking up Litter On the Go! In Sweden in 2016, a group organized an event called “plogging” where you pick up trash while jogging. Soon after, other countries picked up the trend. So we’ve decided to add this wonderful concept to our event calendar! Running is not necessary to attend this event HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Meet at Active Passion to receive trash bags and gloves. Next, we will head over to our usual run start position behind home plate at the Stude Park ballpark. Let the fun begin! We will head down the bayou and grab whatever trash you can find. Sometimes that means getting off the sidewalk if you can. Don’t forget to tag us on your social along the way so more people can see and join in on the next one!
