HR218 YEARLY CERTIFICATION If you are a retired Law Enforcement Officer, you may qualify to carry a firearm nationwide under HR218. One of the requirements to carry under HR218 is to complete an annual qualification/certification class with an instructor certified to conduct a firearms qualification test for active duty officers. Instructor Cheryl Shaffer is a USCCA, NRA and BSIS Firearms Instructor and offers HR218 Qualification and Certification to retired Law Enforcement Officers. In order to attend this class, you must provide proof of retirement from a qualifying agency, (2) Passport Photos and meet all other eligibility criteria set forth in 18 U.S. Code § 926C. This class runs about two hours and you will need to provide the firearm you wish to carry under HR 218 for qualification. You may also bring a second handgun if you wish to have two handguns listed on your HR218 ID and 100 rounds of ammunition per firearm. Range location is Insight Indoor Shooting Range, 17020 Alburtis, Artesia, CA. You also have the option to qualify via our firearms simulator. The cost for this class is $150 and payment is accepted via cash or major credit card. Upon successful completion/qualification you will receive a photo ID to corroborate your compliance of qualification under HR218 within 10 days.
