O'Connell faces Mark Nelson in the race to replace Jomarie O'Mahoney, who resigned from the board in June. Both candidates were due to appear at the forum Thursday, but Nelson withdrew late due to an emergency, moderator Rob Peterson said. Instead, Peterson asked O'Connell questions about her candidacy and views. O'Connell, a former member of both the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee, emphasized her experience in her introduction. >>Wilmington Special Election: When, Where, How To Vote The candidate fielded questions about Town Manager Jeffrey Hull (renew his contract), the school administration building and the senior center (do both at the same time) and ways to spur economic development (look into hiring a grant writer), among other topics.
