Job descriptionWe are a quality Boarding and Daycare facility in Walnut Creek seeking a hard-working, self-motivated, and passionate dog and cat lover to join our team!!You will be responsible for providing quality care to all our four-legged guests! We offer a friendly, welcoming, work environment and a strong team of passionate dog and cat lovers! Caring for pets is rewarding and interesting, but it and also be very physical and messy, you must have a passion for working with pets. We are seeking reliable individuals that have a positive attitude, good work ethic, and a willingness to roll up the sleeves and get dirty!This is an entry-level position, with opportunity for growth! It requires comfort with all sizes and breeds of dogs, and with cats. The position is physically demanding and requires you to be on your feet for long periods of time. Dogs and cats are messy- you'll be cleaning a lot, doing dishes and laundry, moping, vacuuming and sanitizing boarding rooms, as well as providing dog walks and one on one play time with dogs and cats.Please read through the entire add to make sure this position is the right fit for you.Weekends and holidays are required. 15-30 plus hours per week, days and hours will vary. Morning shift begins at 7am. Shifts can be from 3-8 hours. Business demands increase over the summer, on weekends and during the holiday periods.Please send a cover letter letting us know why you want to work in the pet care field. Dog Training, behavior, grooming skills or staff supervisory experience is a plus.Requirements for Candidates: You must be 18 years old or older. Must be able to work holidays and weekends (Please do not apply if you are unable to work on holidays and weekends). You must have a strong work ethic be patient, honest, responsible, punctual and very dependable. Does not miss scheduled shifts Values excellent customer service Pays attention to details and cleanliness. Comfortable working with all types and sizes of dogs and with cats. Able to be on your feet most of your shift walking, lifting, bending, standing and crouching. You must be able to lift 40 lbs. Able to work outside in hot, cold and rainy weather. Comfortable taking directions and working independently Core duties and responsibilities: Clean and maintain dog and cat enclosures (waste removal, hosing, scrubbing, vacuuming, sweeping, moping, sterilizing). Power washing, Laundry, Dishes Walking dogs (may require walking 3 large dogs at once) and providing personal play time for dogs and cats. Assist with feeding and medications as needed and directed. Any additional tasks needed to help the facility run smoothly. We are a small business and we all multitask. Job Type: Part-timePay: $13.00 per hour
