Press release from LCD: Aug. 26, 2021 Lake Country Dance, a youth competitive dance team program based in Lake Country, Wisconsin, announced the launch of their new, competitive dance program for local youth. The competitive dance program aims to bring dance competition expertise and passion to Lake Country dancers and the surrounding communities. Founded and co-owned by Marisa Marchok and Kathryn Indermuehle, Lake Country Dance was created to provide Lake Country youth -- ages preschool through eighth grade -- with the opportunity to train and perform at a competitive level. Lake Country dance training will emphasize technique in an exciting, competitive team environment and focus on select dance styles such as pom, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. The Lake Country Dance program is built to equip youth dancers with the skills and confidence they need for their prospective high school dance teams, dance auditions and beyond. "As a mom of five, a Lake Country school teacher and a dancer raised in Wisconsin, I know there's an incredibly talented pool of dancers in this area looking to take their dance skills to the next level," said Kathryn Indermuehle, Co-owner and Director for Lake Country Dance. "I'm thrilled to bring my love for dance, teaching and children all together through our work with Lake Country Dance and prepare local youth for their future dance endeavors." Lake Country Dance will begin their inaugural year with an abbreviated introductory season that will run from September 2021 through March 2022. Throughout the season, dancers will attend local competitions, as well as community performances. In addition, Lake Country Dance will also include celebrations and experiences throughout the season such as holiday parties, spirit days, social events, etc., to support and enhance the team bonding experience. "Lake Country Dance values the lessons learned through the competitive dance world, and each competition is an opportunity for performance, feedback, and growth," said Marisa Marchok, Co-owner and Head Dance Coach. "As a former competitive dancer myself, I learned how to collaborate and be a team player, on top of enhancing my dance skills through the competitive environment, and I want to teach and inspire the next generation of dancers too." All Lake Country Dance teams will practice at Stone Bank School in Oconomowoc, WI. Auditions for this year's season will take place on September 11 at Stone Bank School.
