'Armed And Dangerous' Suspect, $5K Reward Elusive 1 Year Later

YONKERS, NY, — Police and the FBI are marking the one-year anniversary of the coldblooded slaying of a man on a Yonkers street by reminding the public that the suspect wanted in the killing is armed, dangerous and still at large. Jerome Wilson fatally shot Chazz Mitchell near Oak Street on August 25, 2020, police believe. In March, the FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force and the Yonkers Police Department offered a $5,000 reward for any tips that might help law enforcement to nab the wanted fugitive. Yonkers detectives believe Wilson has strong ties to Yonkers, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Poughkeepsie. It is also thought that he has close family and associates in Albany and Niagara Falls, as well as Fayetteville, North Carolina and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
