BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline first responders assisted with a home birth near Washington Square last week after a local woman suddenly entered active labor faster than planned. On August 18 just after 7 a.m., Arielle Chernin began getting severe contractions and her husband Kyle Williams, called 911, reported ABC News. Brookline police and EMTs responded to the home immediately and were told by Fallon Ambulance that the safest plan was to prepare for home delivery. Less than half an hour later, Regan Williams was born on the bathroom floor, with delivery help from Transformative Healthcare practitioners. "Regan has shown us she's ready for the world, and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us all!!!" said Brookline police in an Instagram post. "We hope she'll consider a career in law enforcement someday, and that all future surprises she gives us are good ones <3." Following the delivery, the family was taken the Brigham and Women's Hospital and are now back home with their newest addition. "Kyle and I are both born and raised in Brookline so this feels very full circle to have our first born delivered at home by Brookline first responders," Chernin wrote to Brookline police.
