GLEN COVE, NY — A fire broke out early Tuesday at a Glen Cove food bank, destroying refrigerators full of produce and pallets loaded with canned and boxed food. An official at NOSH said the fire has forced the facility to close indefinitely. NOSH has been feeding the hungry in Glen Cove since 1989, according to its website. The Glen Cove Fire Department responded to the scene just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Fire officials believe the fire started on the side of the building, according to News 12. The basement of the building, which is where members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 347 meet, was also damaged, according to a fire official.
