After 6 years at #WTAE I wanted to let all know that my last day will be Tuesday, August 31st. To say I'm appreciative of my time here would be an understatement. The last six years have brought some incredible personal challenges... pic.twitter.com/1ZgzEK0NbQ— David Kaplan (@DKaplanWTAE) August 25, 2021 Alluding to personal challenges during his time in Pittsburgh, Kaplan also noted that he has grown as a person and as a journalist. "Along the way I've made amazing friends, had supportive co-workers and bosses, and had the honor of telling your stories," Kaplan tweeted. "This town cares deeply about the neighborhood and it was always a priority for me to capture that." A Virginia native and Syracuse University graduate, Kaplan joined WTAE in 2015. Kaplan said he is "not quite ready" to reveal his next professional move, but indicated he will continue reporting. "It's what I love," he said.
