DARIEN, IL — In recent days, Darien police have handled cases involving a domestic battery, DUI, out-of-state warrants, a theft at the Darien Sportsplex, the removal of a valuable car part and a bicycle theft. Here is information from the latest police reports: Domestic battery Mike Montano, 24, of Chicago, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Aug. 17 in the 8200 block of Woodland Drive on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Unlawful use Of weapon Tyree Pearson, 21, of Woodridge, was arrested about 2 p.m. Aug. 16 on 75th Street on a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was issued a warning for driving with expired license plates, according to police. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. DUI Javier Castillo, 30, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 7300 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and speeding. He was clocked speeding 59 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Tereno Forbes, 35, of Lombard, was arrested about 10 p.m. Aug. 16 on 75th Street on a charge of DUI. An officer stopped Forbes after seeing white smoke coming from his passenger tire. Forbes was released and given a date to appear in court. Out-of-state warrants Shenice Davis, 25, of Chicago, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 8300 block of Lemont Road on two out-of-state warrants and charges of no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Sportsplex theft A hockey stick was stolen from a rack about 8 p.m. Aug. 17 near the locker room at the Darien Sportsplex, 415 Plainfield Road. The loss was estimated at $300. Driving violations Nathan Jones, 43, of Darien, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 7900 block of Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was clocked speeding 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Converter removed A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle between 6 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday from a guest parking lot in the 7400 block of Brookdale Drive. The part was valued at $1,000. In recent times, the metals in catalytic converters have become a lot more valuable. Bicycle theft A person stole a bicycle from a rack about 1 p.m. Sunday at Jewel, 7335 Cass Ave. The loss was estimated at $600. Police report information is provided by local police departments.
