Full Job Description Purpose: The Grant Writer will research and apply for external grants to fund special projects and operating costs to ensure financial stability and continued growth of A Few Good MENtors, Inc.. Key Duties: The responsibilities of the Grant Writer: • Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals. • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposals, and attending strategy meetings. • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal. Go to our website for information on A Few Good MENtors, Inc. • Enters and monitors tracking data. • Coordinates requirements with contributors and contributes proposal status information to review meetings. • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation. • Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. • Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding and coordinating printing. • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases. • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate. • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks. Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position 5-10 hours/week Logistics: There is no office space for this position; candidate will work from home using his/her own computer and high-speed internet. Day-to-day interactions will be conducted via email, telephone and video conferencing. Worker Status: Part-time, support based or self-supported. Approved expenses may be reimbursed. Education: College graduate in Finance, Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience. Experience and skills: Knowledge of the grant-seeking process and good track record of successful grant applications Requirements: • Christ-follower, personable, good communication and people skills, dependent on prayer, and spiritually mature. • Agrees with A Few Good MENtors, Inc.
