JOHNS CREEK, GA — A welfare check police led to the discovery of a man dead after his wife stabbed him, Johns Creek Police said.
Stephanie Ferguson-Levin, 51, of Johns Creek, is charged with felony murder and third degree cruelty to children, with more charges pending.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, officers were dispatched to 645 Mount Victoria Place for a welfare check. A family member from out of state contacted Chatcomm Dispatch regarding a frantic phone call they received from a family member in Johns Creek. The caller requested a welfare check because after hearing the phone call, they feared someone at the house could be seriously injured.
Johns Creek Police found Ferguson-Levin at the home, and her husband deceased from a knife wound, police said.
William Neil Kennedy, 51, was identified as the husband, Johns Creek Police Capt. Todd Hood told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Her two children, a 9-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, were both home at the time, authorities told the AJC.
Ferguson-Levin was taken into custody and charged. She was taken to the Fulton County Jail and is currently held without bond.
