Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - potential to progress to Foreman position Summary: Construction company in Cayucos is seeking to fill a position for Heavy Equipment Operation.  Candidate must be able to communicate and write effectively in English and preferably be willing to run their own crew (experience managing others is a plus), as this position may progress to becoming Foreman for the company. Must have valid California Driver License (or be able to obtain one if licensed in another state) and be insurable, as employees drive company vehicles. Main Yard is located in Cayucos, and we do all local work, no extended stay travelling. Class A licensing and excellent knowledge of, and ability to maintain, applicable industry standard codes, regulations and practices preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate if necessary. Pay is $25-$35 per hour starting, with potential for prevailing wage opportunities and some overtime. Higher wages and/or raises in pay are certainly negotiable and possible dependent on ability, knowledge and performance. Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a list of duties and responsibilities of position, including but not limited to: Comfortably and efficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment vehicles such as Backhoe, Skid-Steer, Front Loader, Roller and others used for demolition, ditch digging, grading, paving, and similar jobs Fill out Daily Work Sheets documenting work detail of crew and similar record keeping Assist Laborers and other crew members as needed Effectively communicate and delegate job duties to other crew members Follow and comply with established OSHA rules and regulations Comply with all applicable City, County, State and National codes and regulations regarding necessary measurements, distances, specifications of products used etc. for safe and compliant completion of projects. Willing and able to drive to various locations throughout the county on a daily basis as we perform work in the entire county.  All work is local, no extended stay travel required. Job Requirements: Minimum 5 Years Heavy Equipment Operator preferred Class A Driver License (or ability to obtain) preferred Must have valid Driver License. Out of state is okay as long as you are able to obtain a California license within necessary time frame Minimum 5 Years relevant work experience Ability to show consistent work history, preferably with employer longevity Resume required - preferably with at least two references
