Description
I sadly need to rehome my two cats (a female tortie aged 13 years and a male tabby aged 8 years). They are both neutered and will come with topical flea medicine, litter boxes, pet combs, dry food, catnip, cat toys, a pet stroller (for Sharks), and lightweight litter. Their stories are below: Sophie is a sweet, shy tortoiseshell cat. In 2008, I rescued her from a parking lot when she was a kitten, and she immediately warmed up to me and has been a loyal, super well-behaved cat ever since. We recently moved from the East coast to Los Angeles, and Sophie hasn't adjusted well for a few different reasons. She is stressed out with the addition of two children to our household (in 2018 and 2020). Sophie is not aggressive toward children, but my young children seem to stress Sophie out. Additionally, my oldest child is allergic to cats, and the extra measures we've taken to reduce cat allergens in our house (cat baths and daily vacuuming) have stressed her out even more. She now hides most of the day and only comes out to eat food. My child's allergies seem to be getting worse, and Sophie is stressed, so I think the best thing to do is to rehome Sophie. Sharks is a very sweet, social cat that loves attention. In 2013, we rescued him from a roadside when he was a kitten, and he has been affectionate to most people ever since. Unfortunately, Sharks doesn't do well with our two children (one is a toddler, the other is a baby), and wants to live outside only. Luckily, we have a small, enclosed backyard, but it's not safe for Sharks to be out when we're not around to monitor him, and raccoons are a danger at night. He likes going outside in his cat stroller, but that's not enough to satisfy him. I think the best thing to do is to rehome Sharks to a place without kids and that might have a safe outdoor space for play. Sharks is OK with dogs and some cats. He'd probably take some time to adjust to being around dogs again. He does not seem to like small children, but he's not aggressive towards them.
