Martin Niemöller First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me I know exactly where you're coming from Alexander, I'm a Brit the same as you & I've searched all over to find reason's for the British attitude toward Russia. I can't find any decent reason why they continue to have this attitude toward Russia. I'm sure everyone else will feel the same. It annoys me my tax is funding useless point scoring for the sake of our secret services good old boys network. Russia is using less and less USD. For example exports to China and India were 90% in USD only 7 years ago. Today 10%. What will happen to the Petrodollar and Fiat generally if USD are not dominant? This is a serious threat to USA. That is why Washington (deep state) had to reinvent the scary Russian bear and London tugs along as usual. Otherwise, what has Russia done to the UK? Bloody nothing in my opinion. British establishment just doesn’t like Slavs it is bin proven through history and that is the fact, and Russia now this but they’re just pretending like everything is gonna be ok!? duplicity & double standards whist wearing a smiling face, one of the most hated of vices in Russian culture. Something his Majesty Nikolai II detested. Word for it in Russian is лицемерия-literally “to measure your face”. There’s no ideal or exact translation, poker face doesn’t do it justice, it’s far more treacherous in its’ intent to deceive. (And yes r'e hating Slavs) One day all those people will have to answer to the Lord. And to tell you the truth I would not like to be in their skin and that is the fact!? I agree :-but the threat of cultural duplicity and positioning to own standards with the intent to deceive is best examined by looking at the chinese : these facets defines them and there lies Russia's key threat. Russia has had a “good enough relationship” with China for nearly 1,000 yrs with a shared border. No wars. Trade has always flourished between the two & Russian engineers (& gold Roubles from his Majesty Aleksandr III) built the railways there including the Trans-Siberian near the border. Shipping trade along the huge rivers. Russia & China hve always also had good Diplomatic relations, envoys, Ambassadors. Very divergent cultures, but a level of respect for differences that means clear communication. China detests the English/US for both colonisation, Opium & exploitation, foolish ever to make China lose face, but they respond well to clear agreements that are win:wins especially when money & status are involved, Russia provided those (Classical music, engineering). Need to look at history always, most of what is presented in media is oblivious to it & it determines so much. Seems to me the biggest stumbling block to British world domination in the 19th century was Russia, and Russia has since been a thorn in their side. Providence, perhaps?? They stopped Napoleon's ambitions, Britain's, Hitler's, and now the USA??? What a remarkable role in history.Interestingly, during the American Civil War the Tsar sent his Pacific fleet to stand off San Francisco and its Atlantic fleet to stand off New York, essentially guarding these shores from the French and British who wanted to intervene on the side of the south - cheap cotton, and all that. And so, Russia basically had the Union's back in what ultimately developed into the modern US. Perhaps someone should remind Capitol Hill.... My understanding it goes back to Britain and American territory. British wanted Russia to support them in sanctions against American colonies and stop the commerce and legal recognition of the territory, but Catherine the Great allowed American representative Dana to stay in Russia and increased commerce with America. Moreover, she sent Russian navy fleet to patrol the waters to prevent Royal Navy from blockade of other ships to the American territories. Then Russians went against the British during American Civil war and instead of supporting The Confederacy with British and France, Russians supported Lincoln and blocked European ships with their navy. Russian navy was de facto in command of Abraham Lincoln. Then Russians supported M Gandhi in his none violent resistance against British control in India. Gandhi was influenced by Leo Tolstoy. Historically Russians always messed with British plans. That’s why during Russian Crimean war, Britain and France supported Ottoman Empire against Russia. At the same time Russians can’t look at Brits as their enemy because before Britain was attacked by Duke of Normandy with Vikings under Pope’s command, and forced to Catholicism, they were Eastern Orthodox and spiritual brothers to the Russian people. I agree entirly, I am also a Britt and likewise cannot understand the attitude of the UK toward Russia. unfounded accusations and then sending two silly warships to the Black sea, what a ridiculous idea. The US dollar won’t be around that much longer China is and will be making a few alterations to the western car picture the have been tooling up to flood w world with electric cars by by combustion car and the American dollar is backed by oil Interesting bit of information, never heard of that. As for reminding the folks on Capitol Hill, I doubt that they are capable of appreciation forcthis sort of thing, they are too closely tied up to their short term political interests.. Tatyana Linsky excellent comment. Guy Mettan (retired Swiss Diplomat) wrote an excellent book “Creating Russophobia: from the Great Schism to Anti-Putin Hysteria” on the matter. Well worth a read of this 1,000 yr old matter. The UK anti-Russia demonising was cranked up to max when Russia intervened in Syria, a full year after the U.S. was supposedly bombing ISIS. Instead, the U.S. was protecting ISIS convoys of stolen oil, convoys of ISIS fighters and weaponry, etc. Without Russia, Syria would now be ruled by the duped head-chopping proxies of the U.S., U.K. etc. Then, the U.S. and U.K. would get public support to invade Syria. agree, so true. So much demonic magician “look over here at this” whilst they’re bleeding the significant food & oil area of Syria dry. @Username neutral The US big tech monopolies banning narratives which don't comply with the official narrative, is the powerful and vital tool in manufacturing consent for these increasingly authoritarian US and UK regimes. As hard-won rights and freedoms are increasingly being taken away and more people are suffering increasing poverty and hardships, the ruling elites solution is 24/7 distractions i.e. 24/7 anti-Russia and anti-China demonising and scaremongering, to reassure the brainwashed majority the censorship and banning is noble and necessary. As Noam Chomsky said, “Any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media." 24/7 media brainwashing is how the minority elites rule the majority with majority consent. true It’s like the post 1946 poem “First they came” Martin Niemöller First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me Qarthur Niblock Er poisoned an exKGB spy on U.K. soil which also inadvertently killed a British citizen. @Arthur Niblock you’re being brainwashed by misinformation. Russian trolls and state sponsored allies such as Mr Mercouris want to cause discontent within the country. It’s called Information Warfare and dissemination and control of information are indispensable ingredients of conflict. Ironically whilst saying we shouldn’t be going to war with Russia (Cold War) he is supporting what he detests. Hypocritical and fragrantly out of touch with reality. No proof that the Russian state was behind it. BTW, where are the so called poisoned Skrippals? Gone from the face of the world. So who are you suggesting poisoned the Skrippals?
