Seeking female vocalist

Sudbury MA

Description

Our gigging group is looking for a skilled female vocalist. We are looking primarily for a strong lead vocalist, but an ear for harmony and the ability to sing a part within a close multi-part arrangement is also required. A capella or choral experience is a plus point as is some instrumental ability, but neither is a must-have. You need to be able to read a music chart at a basic level although sight singing is not required. The music is mostly, although not exclusively, some form of mainstream popular music and includes songs by artists like Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Little Big Town, Alison Krauss, Paramore, and No Doubt. In addition, we also cover a few songs by less well-known people like Red Molly, Brandi Carlile, and Eva Cassidy. In general, we tend to cover songs fairly closely, but do sometimes create our own arrangements. First and foremost, this is a vocal group with rich harmony at its core. For example, we have several CSNY songs in our repertoire; listeners tell us that we do them really well. Because we want to cover groups with greater harmonic complexity like The Manhattan Transfer, Pentatonix, and others, we're probably not a great match for musical beginners. Please have a professional attitude, reliable transporation, and the willingness to commit sufficient time to an exceptional group.
