Champlain Marina is a 118 slip marina located next door to the public boat launch in Malletts Bay. Offering summer & transient dockage, gas and diesel fuel, pumpouts, and winter storage, Champlain Marina offers all basic necessities for local & visiting boaters. Champlain Marina continues to create an enjoyable recreational experience for Lake Champlain boaters and visitors. Summary: Champlain Marina is looking for reliable workers for the fall 2021 haul out season! The position is for a physically fit and customer service oriented individual(s) to help withboat hauling, and occasionally manning the fuel dock, and winterizing of the marina and it’s facilities. This position has an immediate start date, and runs through the end of October with the potential for more work depending on weather. The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. Availability to work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday is required, with weekend overtime available. Competitive pay based on experience including heavy equipment operation, and experience around and working on boats. Season: Labor Day - Nov 1: Yard prep, boat hauling& blocking, dock maintenance, facility winterizing Skills: Boating experience preferred Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job involves moving boat blocking, moving jackstands, pressure washing, etc and crawling around and under boats. Communication, organization, and safety are key in this position. There can be alot going on at once; it is important to situational awareness and speak up when necessary. Good interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively and be attentive to customer needs. Always thinking ahead. Answering phones / VHF radio The right candidate will be trained in use of company equipment: lawn mowers, small tractor, hydraulic trailer, front end loader, work boats / barge Independent thinking and action when necessary Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills are a plus Advanced opportunities for the right individual Work Environment: Employees are expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, ice, rain, and the hot sun. Employees will frequently be on foot throughout the day. The job requires reaching, getting on the ground, using your hands and legs, keen eyesight, and good listening skills. There is a lot of noise due to running machinery and equipment; it is important to be aware of your surroundings and communicate effectively when hearing & sight is hindered.
