Description
Need help placing your dog? We have been taking in, retraining, socializing and placing homeless small dogs since 1991 with over 2,500 now placed. The all volunteer crew here is very good at working with the dogs and making sure they have some training before going to their new homes, which are well screened to match the dog's needs and personality.
Less dogs in covid times means less work for us, but we do have the room now if folks do not have the time to place their own dogs.
There is never a charge to bring dogs to us and they have fun playing in the large yard at the farm until placed in the right home. The fosters have their own couches and TV too! ;-)
The dogs are not warehoused away from people s they can learn and interact with visitors and our resident dogs too. Our dogs are experts at working with scared or aggressive dogs too with a 98% placement rate for the last 30 years, even if it takes several months to get them happy enough to place them.
We do consider all small dogs and not just dachshunds so let us know if we can help as we have been doing here since 1991.
We are on pace to place around 100 dogs again this year, many of which needed more time and training than local animal shelters could provide.
Dachshund Rescue NW is near north Spokane. Visitors are always welcome to come see what we do here when we have 3,000 visitors a year! We do need appointments in advance so we can lock up the watch dogs so no one is chomped.

If you need to send us your dog tell us their breed, age, location, if fixed and their glitches please. Thanks.
Emails are faster. No texting please. Please leave a message if you do call. We are out working dogs and rarely near the phone.
