Duo Stephanie & Saar have made an enviable name for themselves. Deeply invested in performing four-hands and two-piano repertoire, they bring a clarity of concept and jewel-like architectural precision to their music that lend wings to the composers' most subtle intentions. Their tremendous technical "toolbox" serves the music brilliantly, while taking a back seat to the lyricism and poetry of the scores. Stephanie's and Saar's quiet joy in playing takes listeners by storm. They are releasing an unceasing stream of thematic, magnificently recorded albums. These CDs delve profoundly into Bach's world, the Beethoven string quartets (in elegant four-hands transcriptions), and other truly irresistible repertoire. This duo recital is their Music Matters début.
The transparent La Grua Center acoustic will be at its memorable best in our new, north-wall orientation of pianos and seating, which is also a visual delight. This is the second of Music Matters' five Homage to Bach concerts this season.
