Description

Volunteer outdoors to help beautify Save Mount Diablo's future educational preserve! Trail Work and Cleanup at Mangini Ranch Enjoy the wonder of Mount Diablo’s foothills as we work to prepare Mangini Ranch for it's opening as our educational preserve. Activities include tackling invasive species, improving existing trails, and removing debris from the property. Participants will be notified in the event of cancellation due to extreme weather conditions. Restrooms are not available. Leader:  Haley Sutton, Land Stewardship Associate, Save Mount Diablo Meet: Mangini Ranch. Enter through the gate adjacent to 5318 Crystyl Ranch Drive, Concord, CA 94521. Parking: We will have our two gates open prior to the event start time and will close the gates 10 minutes after event start time. SMD staff will be at the first gate to welcome you. If you arrive after the gates close you can park on the street and walk the 0.3 miles to the property from the main road. The road and parking area are unpaved gravel and dirt (low clearance vehicles have not had a problem entering the property). What to Bring: Water, sturdy shoes, comfy work pants, sun protection (i.e. hat, sunscreen), face covering, and work gloves if you have them. ***Our Policy on Volunteers under the Age of 18As we continue to strive to bridge the gap between youth and nature, we encourage families and youth groups to participate in our stewardship workdays. We have outlined our policy on volunteers under the age of 18 in order to create the best environment for everyone involved. Please note, our stewardship workdays are not drop-off programs. Young volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. In addition, they should meet one of the following requirements before participating on our stewardship workdays: Be accompanied by their adult guardian/parent/chaperone throughout the duration of the workdayBe a part of a recognized organization (such as a school group, youth group, etc.) with their authorized chaperone/teacher/leader present at the workdayIf you have any questions about our policy, you can reach our Diablo Restoration Team leader, Haley Sutton, at [email protected].
