This is a six-week, two-and-a-half-hour evidence-based workshop about living with cancer.
Cancer: Thriving and Surviving is a 6-week evidence-based workshop offered in collaboration with the James M Stockman Cancer Institute and is designed for persons and caregivers who are living with, are in post-treatment, and/or have been affected by cancer.
Classes are held in a supportive environment once a week for 2½ hours and are led by two trained leaders. Topics include:
Techniques to deal with fatigue, pain, depression, isolation, and dealing with uncertaintyExercise for flexibility and enduranceCommunicating effectivelyMaking decisions about treatment and complementary therapiesNutritionSetting prioritiesRelationshipsIf you have any other questions, please contact the Coordinator at 240-566-4862 or [email protected]. Caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend. All workshops are free to participants.
Interpreters are available by advance request. Please call 240-566-4370 at least one week before each session to request an interpreter.
