STAMFORD, CT — The death of a Stamford woman in April has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Connecticut, police said on Tuesday. An investigation remains ongoing. On April 18, officers went to an apartment on Main Street in Stamford on a welfare check and found Hawley Jenkins, 56, dead, according to the Stamford Advocate. Lt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police Department told Patch that the cause of death is blunt head trauma and neck compression. According to her obituary, Jenkins was a former resident of Greenwich. "Throughout her 56 years she was known for her big heart and kind soul which endeared her to everyone," the obituary read. "Hawley expressed a love for all living creatures; she specifically held an extra adoration for horses and cats.
