CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public's help finding a potentially "armed and dangerous" fugitive who is wanted on a bail violation. Philip John Wetmore, 31, is 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Originally from Massachusetts, Wetmore has only one known alias, featuring the spelling of his first name with two Ls. According to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, he has a number of tattoos including angels on his right arm, skulls, flames, and demons on his left arm, and tattoos on his right and left fingers, and left and right hands. He also has a noticeable scar on his left knee. The warrant for his arrest was issued on Aug. 6. "Wetmore is being sought on an arrest warrant issued by the U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire, for bail violations on an original offense of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person," White said. "Wetmore has previously been convicted of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. Wetmore is known to have ties to family, friends, and associates in the Manchester, Salem, and Dover, NH areas." The task force has put "armed and dangerous" and "resisting arrest" warnings on Wetmore due to prior crimes. According to superior court records and posts on Patch, Wetmore has a string of cases dating back to 2010 when he was charged with being a habitual offender as well as a probation violation in Salem. He pleaded guilty to both charges. In June 2012, he was charged in Salem again on two drug charges which were later nolle prossed. In September 2014, Wetmore was arrested by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear on a drug charge. Wetmore was arrested again in Salem on habitual offender, receiving stolen property, reckless conduct, resisting, disobeying an officer, and two felony drug charges in April 2015. About six months later, he pleaded guilty to most of the charges. In March 2015, Wetmore was accused of four counts of theft, two of them felonies, after an incident in Dover. He pleaded guilty in 2018 to two of the charges. Wetmore was charged again in Dover in September 2019 on two receiving stolen property charges and two drug charges as well as resisting arrest. Four months later, Wetmore was charged with two felony drug possession and a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon count out of Manchester. He pleaded guilty to a single drug charge and the weapon charge in July. A month after that, he was arrested on driving after revocation or suspension, three drug charges, and two counts of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon in Merrimack but the charges were nollle prossed seven months later.
