Description
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Turn the Towns Teal organization is seeking volunteers to tie teal ribbons throughout Doylestown on Saturday ahead of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September.
This is the 13th year Doylestown is participating in the organization's national campaign to "educate women and men about the silent and subtle symptoms of ovarian cancer," which often present as other conditions or illnesses and are ignored, according to a news release.
The ribbon-tying event is set to start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Starbucks at the intersection of North Main and State Streets. Organizers are asking volunteers to wear masks during the event.
The nonprofit organization said it will honor women who survived ovarian cancer at an opening ceremony and is encouraging anyone who is receiving or has finished ovarian cancer treatment to contact Joan Doyle at 215-262-4242 to be included.
