Science now shows what common sense and critical thinking had already taught us, which is; Those who play the “Fake News” argument are the ones being duped by “Fake News.” A good majority of these people are Evangelicals or Christian Nationalists. These are the people who literally think Trump was personally chosen by God to be President. It only took a few words from Trump to secure this group, which is a 1/3 of his voting base and 10% of the US population. This group is unreachable and impossible to reason with. Batsh.t crazy is alive and well in the US and now referred to as the Christian Taliban! This group IS the problem and want to turn the US into a Fascist Theocracy. It’s a problem when religious fundamentalists represent 1/3 of your voting base. There is absolutely no equivalent on the Left, despite the multitude of false equivalences made. There is no other group of people in the US who preach one thing and act in the completely opposite way. To be clear, there are many religious people who do preach and act in accordance, but are not a part of the Christian Taliban. A wise man once said: “Organized Religion is the route of all evil.” Nearly every war has been fought over religious beliefs.
