OHIO — Nearly 100 businesses in Ohio are among the fastest-growing private companies in the United States, according to a new list released by Inc.com. The annual list highlights 5,000 of the country's fastest-growing companies, which are ranked by overall revenue growth over a three-year period. The top 500 are then featured in the September issue of Inc. Magazine. Honorees must apply to be selected. In total, this year's honorees brought in $248 billion in revenue and added more than 2.5 million jobs to the U.S. economy. The fastest-growing company in Ohio is Medlab International, according to this year's list. Located in Cortland, Medlab sells medical supplies and equipment online and ships them to buyers discretely. In all, the company grew more than 3,094 percent in the past year. Overall, the company recorded a year-over-year growth of 48,345 percent. Companies that have made the list in the past include Pandora, 7-Eleven, Toys R Us, Zipcar and Zappos.com.
