Huskies, Cougars, Indians Remain In Top 5

TRUSSVILLE, AL — A win by Hewitt-Trussville over Pinson Valley Friday kept the Huskies in the top 5 in the most recent Alabama Sports Writers Association poll, but the loss by the Pinson Valley didn't drop the Indians far in the rankings. Pinson Valley's loss did help Clay-Chalkville, however, as the Cougars leaped over the Indians in the rankings, placing them at no. 2 in the 6A poll after a 40-0 win over Shades Valley. Pinson Valley is ranked third this week. Hewitt-Trussville stayed at no. 4 in the 7A poll after its 49-27 win Friday. The Huskies will play Saraland this week, Clay-Chalkville hosts Hueytown and Pinson Valley goes on the road to face Shades Valley. The Class 7A ASWA poll: 1. Thompson (22); 1-0; 2642.
