Hi y'all, this summer Sweet N' Juicy was used as the backup band for a bunch of songwriters at this cool songwriters' retreat. There was no rehearsal, most of the time the songwriters didn't even tell the band what key they were in. It still worked out great! Was it perfect? No, but there were moments of true originality. We are hoping to catch that vibe at this Thursday night jam session. There is just one rule. NO COVER TUNES. Either the band makes up a jam on the spot by (gasp) listening to each other, or a songwriter can use the band and they will back them up on their original works. We are hoping some bands get formed and there is some crossover from different groups of our highly creative PDX community. So join a bunch of fun people at The Juicy Jam, every Thursday at Parker's Hideout. 7-10pm. 5821 SE Johnson Creek Blvd, Portland, OR 97206. There is a huge covered patio area, pool table, poker table, pinball, PacMan, and a fully stocked bar with wonderful service.
