Waldenbrooke Estates, an independent retirement community in Bryan is looking to add a few more dedicated Food Servers to join our team. Waldenbrooke Estates has 120 apartments and provides all 3 meals for our residents 7 days a week. Applicants must agree to and pass a mandatory Background Check/ Drug Screen before an offer of employment can be made. There are no late night hours as the last shift ends at 7:30pm. It may be possible to work full or part time, depending on your availability as well as our needs. We do have a few weekend-only shifts available for students who want to work a weekend job while going to school also. The successful candidate must be able to follow instructions. Please see below for application times. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE To serve meals to residents' tables, following Waldenbrooke Estates procedures, in a courteous and friendly manner. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests. Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time). Customer service orientation. General knowledge of sanitation and safe food‐handling practices. Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees. Must demonstrate high standards of ethics and personal accountability. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet residents/guests at each table and courteously review the menu of the meal being served and take residents' orders. Serve beverages, cereals, and soups/salads entrée and desserts. Assist Kitchen Staff with storing perishable items. Bus, clear dishes from tables and reset. Follow proper sanitizing procedure for cleaning tables and chairs. Vacuum carpets, etc. Complete side work--fill sugar holders, replenish creamers, clean coffeemaker, etc. Deliver trays to resident rooms if needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. May be assigned to any other job function in the Community on a relief basis. OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all work assigned for the agreed‐upon wage, accepting no additional payment or nonperishable gifts from residents, vendors, Management, or others. Meet the assigned work‐hour requirements of the job. Regular attendance is required. Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential. Desire and ability to be a team player.
