Description
Locate Technicians are responsible for the correct, safe and efficient locating of underground utilities including telecommunications, electric, power, cable TV, gas, water and sewer systems. This includes taking time to thoroughly search for underground utilities in an area, properly marking the location, completing the necessary paperwork and photographing each locate.
What you will be doing:
Identify existing aerial and underground routes using location equipment.
Ensure the client’s facilities are protected at all times during construction.
Update the client’s maps, as-built and other documentation.
Operate hand, electronic and power tools as required to maintain client facilities.
Obtain work location and description via computer.
Clear completed work via computer daily.
Perform other duties assigned.
The associate may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
What You Need For This Position:
High school diploma plus additional specialized technical courses or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study.
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
Must have basic computer knowledge
