Gerrit’s Appliance is seeking customer focused individuals that take pride in their work and are experienced Dishwasher Installers to install, connect/disconnect, test, and troubleshoot home dishwashers to our valued customers. No experience – No problem! If you have a basic understanding of hand/power tools or machinery, plumbing and/or electrical, we can train you as our next Dishwasher Installer Apprentice. Gerrit's Appliance is a local, family-owned business who takes pride in offering great value and service to our customers for the past 72 years! With two locations in the Grand Rapids area, we offer the largest and latest selections of appliances and grills in the area. Most importantly, we provide full delivery, professional installation services, and manage our own in-house parts and service departments. Dishwasher Installers/Apprentices will be provided with the following: • Great culture – work independently, have the support of a team, and be part of a local family business that cares about you • Work / life balance – flexibility with schedule if needed • In-house training opportunities – we want you to grow and succeed with the company • Home every night – travel is usually within one hour of Wyoming headquarters • Great hours – Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 5:30pm with overtime available • Work variety – location is different everyday – average 4-6 stops per day • Affordable Health Insurance and great coverage (Priority Health) – Gerrit’s covers 2/3 of the cost (full-time only) • $25K Life Insurance policy (full-time only) • 401(k) offered (full-time only) • Competitive wages and weekly paycheck • Profit sharing & bonus program • Uniforms provided As a Dishwasher Installer/Apprentice, you will be trained to handle the following: • Work as a team sharing equal parts of the workload • Safely deliver dishwashers and load/unload trucks • Respect, protect and thoroughly clean up customer homes • Remove old dishwashers • Move dishwashers into homes with superior care and unpackage dishwashers • Hook up dishwashers to water lines and electrical connections • Maintain vehicle, supplies and tools, keeping clean, organized, and secure at all times Gerrit’s looks for Dishwasher Installers/Apprentices who have the following: • High School Graduate and at least 18 years old • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record • Knowledge and experience using hand and power tools • Knowledge and/or experience in plumbing/electrical • Exceptional customer service skills and friendly personality • Excellent safety record as well as the commitment to safety and quality • Ability to move into tight spaces and up and down stairways  • Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds • Ability to exercise sound judgement skills and solve problems • Strong attention to detail • Basic computer knowledge/skills • Positive attitude and enjoy working with people If you are interested in continuing or starting a career in the appliance industry and we are the kind of company you see yourself growing with, apply today for immediate consideration!
