Description

Roll-Off Drivers safely operate a heavy-duty truck and are responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large open top containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities and customer locations. Roll-Off Drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high traffic roadways and may operate in tight overhead environments while on industrial routes. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential, to successfully perform this job. Physical Requirements • Ability to meet DOT Physical Requirement’s •Push/pull and frequently lift/carry up to 30 lbs •Able to sit periodically and for extended periods of time, climb ladders/stairs, reach below knees and above shoulders. •Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and to reach forward and grasp equipment •Ability to balance and walk on wet and slick surfaces, metal grates, narrow platforms, and uneven surfaces •Work in cold, hot, rain or dry environments •Ability to work in loud industrial environments •Ability to work in adverse conditions inside or outside. Including: cold, heat, rain or dry environments. Job Requirements •CDL Class B •Able to pass drug screens, physical and background checks •2+ years experience driving a Straight Truck Roll-off •Experience operating heavy equipment: Dump Trucks, Dozer, Back Hoe, Fork Lift, Excavator •Drive Manual Transmission •Air Brakes endorsement •High school diploma/GED •Weekend availability Responsibilities •Operates vehicle in accordance with and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws •Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment •Maintain driver’s log per DOT requirements •Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Manager •Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Management and/or Safety •Works closely with Managers to improve route efficiency and identify best practices •Notifies Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage •Communicates with clients, subcontractors and supervisors •Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement •Ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies governing the proper management of solid and hazardous waste •Positions and / or returns container on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic •Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and the check out process •Transport trash to landfill •Transport recyclables and other materials to facilities •Operate heavy equipment •Maintain equipment •Available to work flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends •Track recyclable/trash weights dump tickets Job Type: Full-time
