Hello friends, My name is Matthew. I am a 27 year old Musician and entertainer here in Riverside,CA. I've been in the music industry for almost 10 years. I've had a successful music career as a singer/songwriter and on stage musician. I have more than 170 musical compositions under my belt in various styles and genres. I am very much a well rounded artist and am currently accepting new students (Young or Old) for a variety of musical lesson options. I play a variety of instruments including (but not limited to): Guitar Piano Bass Chorded Zither (Autoharp) Glockenspiel Ukulele Harmonica Djembe I am curently offering beginner lessons in these listed instruments for any individual who would like to start playing music. What you will learn through instrument lessons are the basics of instrument mainteneance, chord patterns, strumming patterns, correct form when playing, as well as scales. It is encouraged that students have their own instrument during lessons and at home, that they become familiar with what's theirs, the nuances of it, and can practice at home. Though for example, if you are interested in trying an instrument before you're decided on whether to by one and get into the art, I have duplicate guitars and basses for use during lessons. In addition, I am also offering introductory vocal lessons. These lessons revolve around breathing technique, form, stage presence, overcoming nerves, finding your comfortable tones and vocal range, and pitch control. Lastly, I am offering songwriting lessons. You will learn about song structure, musical keys, genres, lyrical form and composition, as well the various approaches to the craft. I want to be very transparent in stating that i am in no way classically trained. I have been a completely self taught musician. The lessons I offer are truly beginner lessons that will lead into more advanced concepts should you choose to continue. You will not learn cite reading or notation, but you will be able to learn fundamentals that will get you out on your own to start playing, singing, and writing songs. What i'm truly offering is an opportunity for folks who are interested in starting their musical journey or anyone who is on their own road and wants to learn something new. At base, 1 hour standard lessons are set at $50. I have a small studio in my home but can carry out lessons anywhere you feel comfortable. It can be outside or at your own space, I'm more than happy to come to you. If i'm travelling to any location, the hourly rate will be $60 to accomodate for mileage.
