My Handyman of four years is moving to the mainland. He helped me in my condo and my mother in her home. He is a good man and a very terrific Handyman -- I am so sorry to lose him! That being said, I must find another person who can do those smaller odd jobs that we cannot do. I live in Hawaii Kai in a small condo in a high-rise. My mother also lives in Hawaii Kai, in a three bedroom house. This is what we seek: *Someone who will respond to a call or text quickly and after discussion be available to do the work in 1-4 days. * Good communication/honesty -- no ghosting, no no-show, no BS. *Working after your day job or on weekends is fine -- we are flexible and will work with your availability. * Arrive on time -- if you can't help it and are running late -- please call or text. * Have your own tools -- we have a few but no power tools. * Live within 5-7 miles of Hawaii Kai. Long distance never works well. * Be honest about your ability. If a task is beyond your scope, that is OK, do not try to fake it and make it worse. * Have a RANGE of skill. MINOR plumbing, carpentry, electrical, assembling furniture, wall mounting, painting, repair, lifting heavy items. * Quote fairly for the task and time. We will pay additional for any materials you need to buy. * Have at least two professional references & resume or work history. * Non-smoker / no drugs or alcohol when working. NOTE: We typically pay in cash. You will need to quote a price before a task starts. If it ends up being more complex, the quote can be modified. This Handyman position is on and off, as needed.
