Description
Come TOP GOLF it with the Apollo Astronaut Hon Harrison Schmitt! All proceeds go to funding our unique youth camps and STEM engagements.
The local TAI Albuquerque chapter, the General Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton Chapter, prides itself on supporting and organizing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) initiatives, which provide scholarships for youth space camps and STEM events. Each year, the General Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated (TAI) continues to advance its mission by introducing young people in underrepresented communities to the exciting and lucrative world of Aviation and STEM through our award winning, hands on-minds on aerospace camps. Our graduates are turning D’s and F’s into A’s and B’s, attending college, learning critical trades, and having positive impacts in their communities. One key factor in our success is the removal of the cost barrier that keeps New Mexico youth from pursuing these careers – our camps are largely free through scholarships
Our Mission
To preserve the Legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and encourage post-secondary education among the youth of our community particularly in Aviation, Aerospace, and other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career Fields.
