Join in on a fun painting session while sipping wine with friends at our waterfront! Enjoy a fun and artful Sunday evening on our patio with a painting workshop led by local Roosevelt Island artist Dan Nistor! Bring a friend as you sip wine and learn how to paint seasonal landscapes and more with a basic acrylic palette on canvas. All materials included and one glass of wine to get your creative juices flowing! About Dan Nistor Saint Thomas Aquinas defined Beauty as "that which being perceived, pleases", and this traditional wisdom grounds Dan's work. Dan Nistor trained in painting, teaching, and art restoration in his home country of Romania, where he graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts from Bucharest National University of Arts. In 1996 he moved to New York City where he continued his practice and does so today as a member of the Roosevelt Island Visual Arts Association (RIVAA). His retrospective exhibition is scheduled at Gallery RIVAA in October of this year. Dan has taught fine arts and fashion design at Parsons School of Design for the past 16 years. He has also taught in Europe, the Art Institute of New York City, and other institutions in the tri-state area. He enjoys spending time with his daughter Anoukia, teaching, listening to music, debating, reading, and telling jokes. We are a new events venue and bar/restaurant restored from a century-old stone church, located on the waterfront of Roosevelt Island.
