Ceremony in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Join the Greensboro Commission on the Status of Women and Family Justice Center for the sixth annual Purple Tree Lighting in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This ceremony is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, commemorate the victims lost, and encourage the advocates who fight tirelessly for those affected.
This event will feature speakers Tifanie Rudd, CSW Commissioner, Porsha Shipman, Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation, The Poetry Project, Stephanie Mardis, Greensboro Police Captain, Dr. Goldie Wells and Marikay Abuzuaiter, Greensboro City Council, and Dr. Love Jones, Greensboro Human Relations Department Director.
This program is free and open to the public. In light of concerns related to the Covid-19 variants, in-person attendance is strictly limited to 50 people. If registration is full, please join us on Facebook live to participate in the event.
