Author Carolyn Long will discuss her book, Madame LaLaurie, Mistress of the Haunted House Author Carolyn Morrow Long will discuss her book, Madame Lalaurie, Mistress of the Haunted House, a meticulously-researched profile of the infamous Delphine Lalaurie and her French Quarter home. Ms. Long will also present new information about Madame Lalaurie's probable tomb in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. Ms. Long is the author of 3 books: Spiritual Merchants: Religion, Magic, and Commerce; A New Orleans Voudou Priestess: The Legend and Reality of Marie Laveau; and Madame Lalaurie, Mistress of the Haunted House. She is also an artist whose notecards and prints (reproduced from her original collages) explore New Orleans themes. She created the cover illustration for Madame Lalaurie. The book Madame Lalaurie, Mistress of the Haunted House will be available for purchase at the event.
