Mitch Leachman leads a tour of the bottomland forest, prairie restoration and lake edge at Creve Coeur Park Mitch Leachman will lead a tour of the bottomland forest, prairie restoration and lake edge at Creve Coeur Park on September 11, 2021. Both native and non-native plants will be highlighted as the group traverses a 2.5 mile loop trail. Commentary will be offered on plant behavior, wildlife value and suitability for landscaping projects. Group size is limited to 20 and advance registration is required. Mitch worked for the St. Louis Audubon Society from 2008 until early 2021 as Director of Programs and Executive Director. In 2012, he co-founded the organization's Bring Conservation Home native landscaping consultation and certification program. He has also delivered over 180 presentations, classes and field trips on native plants, birds and biodiversity. Mitch has been gardening with native plants for over 15 years and enjoys all the critters supported by his current inventory of 80 species of native plants. Over 2 to 3 hours of fun and information!
