At about 11:05 this morning, I saw a dog on the shoulder of the road (Guadalupe S. Bound just before the Capitol Exwy Exit), running northward into oncoming traffic!!! I slowed and honked to steer the dog onto the shoulder, but there was no where to stop to try to get the dog into the car.
The dog (I only got a quick glimpse, going by foggy memory) struck me as a GREAT DANE mix?--pointy ears, thin body, squarish head (?). Color was a splotchy mix of tans, black splotches, browns, kind of like a calico cat but I didn't notice any white). The dog was big (but thin), thigh?-high, maybe 80? pounds. I think I saw a collar on this dog, not sure, the dog was obviously disoriented and scared.
:(... On my way back on the other side about 20 min. later, going north on Guadalupe, I saw miles down police slowing down traffic, so I'm guessing there was some kind of collision of sorts. I hope the dog survived and that the Owner finds this and never lets the dog near the freeway again.
