COVID-19 Vaccination Site Now Open At Lee Davis Community Center

TAMPA, FL — The city of Tampa, in partnership with Hillsborough County and Impact Health, is opening a COVID-19 vaccination site at Lee Davis Community Center, 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa. This public vaccine site will help increase access to COVID-19 vaccines near the Al Barnes Park community testing site offered by the city of Tampa. The vaccine site will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, offering free Pfizer and Moderna vaccines (first or second dose available). All people age 18 and up can receive either vaccine and are asked to bring an ID. In addition, minors age 12 years old and older can receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of the vaccination. Residents can preregister for the Lee Davis Community Center COVID-19 testing site. Individuals who are not yet vaccinated are encouraged to get the vaccine to protect themselves from contracting COVID-19 or getting severely ill if they contract COVID-19. Approximately 60 percent of people age 12 and over in Hillsborough County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Those who would like this option do not have to be homebound or bedridden. If you have Medicaid and need transportation to get your vaccine, Florida Medicaid will take you to get the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost. All you need to do is set up a time to get your vaccine. In response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Florida, the city of Tampa and Hillsborough County has opened COVID-19 testing sites offering free tests to the public. The testing sites are open to the public and free of charge to residents, including those without insurance. No appointment is required, but residents are encouraged to preregister. Walk-ups are also available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Both PRC and rapid antigen tests are available. Residents are allowed one type of test per day. Face masks are required except during the few moments for the nasal swab.
