Easton Police & Fire Department To Hold 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

EASTON, MA — It's been 20 years since the September 11 terrorist attacks, and Easton police and fire departments will hold a remembrance ceremony for all who were lost in the attacks. Easton Fire Captain Evan Malone will be leading the 20th year remembrance ceremony. The outdoor event will include the lowering of the American flag to half-mast, a moment of silence, a bell ringing, and a reading of the Firefighter's Prayer. The ceremony will be live-streamed again this year for those too uncomfortable to be in crowded areas. "We are honored to continue the tradition of remembering and carrying on the legacy of the victims of 9/11," Police Chief Gary Sullivan said. "This day never gets easier, no matter how much time has passed. We honor those first responders, all others who lost their lives that day, and those who continue to deal with lasting effects even two decades later. They will never be forgotten." The ceremony will take place at Easton Fire Station located at 48 Lothrop Street on Saturday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. A live broadcast of the ceremony will be streamed here.
