OAK CREEK, WI — Anyone in Wisconsin that gets their first COVID-19 vaccination shot before Sept. 6 will also receive $100, Governor Tony Evers announced today. Anyone in Wisconsin 12 and up that gets the vaccine in the next two weeks will be eligible for a Visa gift card, delivered by mail. The new Wisconsin incentive came the same day the FDA fully approved the Pfizer vaccine for anyone 16 and up. Pfizer's vaccine is emergency use authorized for people between the age of 12 and 15. "The public can be very confident that this vaccine meets the high standards for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality the FDA requires of an approved product," said acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock. "Today's milestone puts us one step closer to altering the course of this pandemic in the U.S." Here's how to collect a gift card in Wisconsin for getting vaccinated: Get a first dose of any COVID-19 vaccine from a Wisconsin provider before Sept. 6Fill out a registration form so officials can confirm vaccination status and send the gift card to an address.Parents and guardians will have to fill out the form for their children ages 12-17.Provide an email address and a physical address.Across Oak Creek and nearby there are daily walk-in clinics. Pop-up clinics at sites across the city are also a regular occurrence. Here are the different spots where people in Oak Creek can get vaccinated: Oak Creek Health Department The Oak Creek Health Department offers regular walk-in and appointment COVID-19 vaccinations, according to its website. People can get a shot Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Department, located at 8040 South 6th Street. The Oak Creek Health Department has Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines, its website said. For an appointment call 414-766-7950. Learn more here. Pop-Up Clinics Two pop-up clinics are happening in the evening Tuesday. One will be at Oak Creek East Middle School and the other at Oak Creek West Middle School. Although separate locations, details for both clinics are the same: Tuesday 5-7 p.m. the Health Department will administer first shots of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone 12 and older, according to the department's website. The clinic Oak Creek West, located at 8401 S 13th Street in Oak Creek, be held in the multi-purpose room. People can return to the same location on Sept. 14 for their second dose. The clinic at Oak Creek East, located at 9330 S Shepard Ave in Oak Creek, will be held in the cafeteria. People can return to the same location on Sept. 16 for their second dose. Learn more here. Vaccines For Home Bound People Milwaukee County offers a program for people that are home bound to get vaccinated. The Oak Creek Health Department is a participant in the program.
