JUNEAU, WI — A DeForest woman is being accused of taking $390,000 from a Randolph business she worked at.
Jennifer Klika, 43, was charged with felony theft of over $10,000 from a business setting on July 14, a Dodge County Circuit Court document said. Klika is also charged with two counts of felony tax fraud in Dane County.
The maximum penalty for a Class G Felony in Wisconsin is a fine of $25,000, 10 years in state prison, or both, the Stangl Law Offices blog said.
Klika appeared before court commissioner Steven Seim Monday and was placed on a $1,000 signature bond, WiscNews reported.
Klika is accused of taking advantage of a system and making money orders for herself at a grocery store while working for Neogen between 2012 and 2016, the DeForest Times Tribune reported.
She worked as a manager and would request corporate funding for permits to ship Neogen products internationally, the DeForest Times Tribune reported.
When she resigned in 2016, staff saw the cost of permits had dropped and opened an investigation revealing inflated fund requests, the DeForest Times Tribune reported.
