Press release from the Dallas Regional Chamber - Blog: August 23, 2021 The LEAD YP Class of 2021 advocated for issues affecting the Dallas Region community while growing both personally and professionally. As business leaders, class members were uniquely positioned to advocate for improvement in the Dallas Region and support other businesses that are doing the same. Class community improvement projects incorporated the DRC's mission to make the Dallas Region the best place in the United States for all people to live, work, and do business, and created plans to solve real-life issues in economic development, education and workforce, public policy, quality of life, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Their solution to this issue? Shift the focus to leveling the playing field earlier in education and empower students with the tools they need to succeed, summarized with the project's tagline: "To Win. To Rise." The project shares personal stories to give a deeper understanding of Dallas Region institutions combatting institutional racism and gender bias head on, resulting in a diverse and sustainable talent pool.
