SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA— As the national Coastal Cleanup Day approaches, the County of San Mateo has announced more than 50 locations for residents to get their hands dirty and help cleanup campaigns in their neighborhoods. Coastal Cleanup Day is part of an international effort to keep trash out of waterways. In San Mateo County, it will be held Saturday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information and to contact a team captain, visit the county website. Burlingame locations: San Francisco Opera Scene Shop, Bayfront Park Burlingame, and Embassy Suites. Pacifica locations: Esplanade, Linda Mar Beach, Manor Shopping Center, Roberts Road, Rockaway Beach, San Pedro Creek, and Sharp Park. Redwood City locations: Redwood High School and other various spots. San Mateo location: Ryder Park. South San Francisco locations: Colma Creek and Haskins Way.
