GLEN ELLYN, IL — Bands from the School of Rock in Glen Ellyn will perform live tunes Sept. 17 for an outdoor concert to benefit Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The Rockin' for the Pantry concert, which will be held in the parking lot of Faith Lutheran Church, will accommodate drive-in, bike-in and walk-in spectators. Rockin' for the Pantry coincides with Hunger Action Day, so concertgoers are encouraged to bring cans of tuna and chicken to donate to the pantry. Guests are also urged to wear orange in support of hunger relief. Tickets to show are $50 per car and $25 per person for those who walk or bike to the event. Park Blvd. Glen Ellyn Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
