DUBLIN, CA — Bay Area Rapid Transit announced that its Dublin/Pleasanton Station garage will face closures in the weeks to come amid lighting improvements. BART expected that the closures will last around eight weeks beginning Sept. 7, the day after Labor Day weekend. Surface lots will remain open the entire time, according to a statement. Based on current ridership statistics, BART expected plenty of parking will be available to accommodate riders. Level 1 will remain open during the first phase of the project. Levels 2 to 4 will remain open during the second phase. "We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience," BART said. Fourteen BART station garages are slated to see upgrades of a total of 10,500 garage lighting fixtures, BART said. Contractors will retrofit garage lighting systems and are expected to wrap up the effort in the first few months of 2022. The Dublin/Pleasanton station is the 11th to see upgrades as part of this project. BART said it will notify riders as necessary of any updates to the project.
